No matter you are a lover of arts and culture or love to enjoy the natural beauty and landscapes on your trips, you are sure to enjoy the tour that you take in the city of Kitchener. I am really happy that I visited this place with my family as it offers plenty of sights and sounds to enjoy for everyone looking for a good tourist city to spend a couple or more days with family.
- Victoria Park
The Victoria Park is very attractive and inviting. It is located in the city’s downtown area. There were plenty of recreational activities offered here that was enjoyed by my kids. The playground was buzzing with children and the place also had a basketball court and a pavilion. The highlight was the boathouse restaurant. The Victoria Park is known as the crown jewel of Kitchener and it truly lives up to this name.
- Waterloo Region Museum
This is Ontario’s largest community museum that gave insights into the Waterloo region some 12,000 years ago. This place showcases the good old local history and also has some temporary international exhibits for its visitors. The Doon Heritage Village that is spread over 60 acres gives details of the community life of this century.
- Huron Natural Area
I was glad that I visited this natural space of Kitchener. If you travel to this city, then do not miss this large natural area located in the south end of the city on the Trillium Driver. I am a nature lover and this large area offered everything that we asked for from great hiking options to jogging and Coldwater streams. It has a cultural and natural history that drives you to explore this space even more. The major attractions here also include forests, meadows, wetlands, lookout spots, boardwalks and natural play area for children.
